About our Organization:
The Esquimalt Recreation Centre is a multi-purpose wellness and community recreation facility. Features of the Recreation Centre include: 4500 + square foot Wellness Centre, featuring state-of-the-art cardio and strength training equipment, gymnasium, aquatic centre with six-lane 25 metre lap pool, warm “lifestyle pool” and tot pool with spray features, wheelchair accessible hot-tub, steam room, and sauna.
About the Opportunity:
The Parks & Recreation Department is seeking motivated individuals to fill auxiliary Lifeguard and Swim Instructor positions, reporting to the Aquatic Supervisor.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will have:
- Partial High School
- Standard First Aid and CPR-C current within 2 years
- Lifesaving Society: Swim for Life Instructor
- National Lifeguard Pool Certification
- Clear Criminal Record Check including Vulnerable Sector

Salary: $22.17-$23.95 plus 14% in lieu of benefits (2024 rates)
