Esquimalt Road will be closed temporarily to accommodate event parades on both June 7th and 9th, 2012. Drivers are advised to watch for barricades on feeder streets and to avoid Esquimalt Road at the following times and locations.
Freedom of the Township Parade and Ceremony
Thursday June 7th, 2012, 12 noon to 1:15 p.m.
Rolling road closures will be in effect while the Freedom of the Township parade proceeds from the marshalling point at the intersection of Dominion and Viewfield, then west along Esquimalt Road to Municipal Hall at 1229 Esquimalt Road. The parade will begin at noon, will stand at guard at the Municipal Hall from 12:30 to 12:45, and head west to the Dockyard, dispersing at 1:05 p.m. All times are approximate.
Buccaneer Days Parade
Saturday June 9th, 2012, 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
The Annual Buccaneer Days Parade will begin at the intersection of Esquimalt Road and Dominion Road at 10 a.m. and will proceed westbound on Esquimalt Road to Constance Avenue, where it will disperse at 11:30 a.m. Barricades will be erected at the following locations:
- Viewfield at Fairview
- Esquimalt Rd at Dominion
- Head St on both sides of Esquimalt Rd
- Macaulay at Esquimalt
- Lampson on either side of Esquimalt Rd
- Joffre at Esquimalt Rd
- Fernhill at Esquimalt Rd
- Fraser at Esquimalt Rd
- Park Place at Esquimalt Rd
- Comerford at Esquimalt Rd
- Admirals Rd on either side of Esquimalt Rd
- Constance St on Esquimalt Rd
- Old Esquimalt Rd at Viewfield and at Head St.
