Call for Applications: Environment, Parks, and Recreation Advisory Committee Youth Representatives
Are you a youth in Esquimalt passionate about parks, recreation, and the environment?
We are currently accepting applications to fill two Youth Representative positions on the Environment, Parks, and Recreation Advisory Committee. Youth Representatives provide a valuable perspective on matters considered by the Environment, Parks, and Recreation Advisory Committee and provides an opportunity for youth to participate with elected leaders and Committee members in active community engagement.
Eligibility to apply: Youth between the ages of 13 to 18 and who are residents of Esquimalt or are in full-time attendance at a school located within Esquimalt.
Term Length: September 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026.
Time commitment: The Environment, Parks, and Recreation Advisory Committee meets at least three times per year in Council Chambers at Municipal Hall, typically on Wednesdays at 6:30 PM. No meetings are held during December, July, or August.

The Parks and Recreation Advisory Committee and Environmental Advisory Committee were merged to form the Environmental, Parks and Recreation Committee on June 30, 2022.

How can I provide public input?
As these Committees, Boards, and Commissions serve as an advisory role to Council, public input opportunities are not provided as part of their meeting agendas. However, public input may be provided to Council on any recommendations the Committees, Boards, and Commissions bring forward.
