Esquimalt Road Active Transportation Improvements and Underground Utility Renewals Project
Open house
We’re seeking your feedback on proposed bike route options to make Esquimalt Road (Joffre Street to Canteen Road) safer and better connected for active transportation.
Want to chat about the proposed active transportation plans for Esquimalt Road from Joffre to Canteen roads? Join us to discuss the posted plans (or your ideas) for Phase II of the Esquimalt Road Active Transportation Improvement Plan.
The aim of the open houses are to answer any questions and hear ideas in person. There are also FAQs available online as well as other opportunities to share your ideas.
Starting November 21, the project team will share information boards online and in hard copy that outline different route options both on Esquimalt Road and along neighbouring streets. The boards will also share key considerations about the route options to better illustrate the anticipated effects of the changes. A survey will open to collect feedback.
The survey is open Nov 21 to January 27 to allow a large feedback window.
On November 28 and Jan 16, join project staff in person to discuss your questions and ideas about this important project.
About the project
The Active Transportation Network Plan aims to create a 5.3-kilometer bike-friendly network with protected bike lanes, including Tillicum Road, Lampson Street, and Esquimalt Road.
With the Tillicum and Lampson project being recently completed, Esquimalt Road is next on the list, and will provide key connections to our business centres, recreation facilities, and schools/parks. This project will improve active transportation connections within the Township as well as connecting to the City of Victoria and DND lands.
