Splash park hours extended, safety tips for upcoming hot days

With news of incoming hot weather please remember to take steps to keep yourselves cool. 

Note the following:

• The Adventure Splash Park will continue to have extended hours from 8 a.m.-8 p.m.
• Water fountains are available in several Esquimalt parks:
  1. Saxe – right beside main parking lot 
  2. High Rock – just off pathway in the meadow (dog off leash area)
  3. Memorial – right beside Portland Loo/ playground
  4. West Bay – entrance of the walkway
  5. Gorge – by men’s washroom on Nature House
  6. Adventure Park – lion's head fountain by picnic tables
  7. Esquimalt Recreation Centre- indoor fountains and seating in the atrium
• The Esquimalt Recreation Centre atrium available during business hours 

• Waterways and beach access:  there are several entry points to access the ocean. See the list.

While hot weather can affect everyone’s health, seniors and persons with chronic poor health are most at risk.
