About our Organization:

The Archie Browning Sports Centre is a multi-use facility, which includes an ice arena, a six-sheet curling rink, lounge areas, and the Township of Esquimalt Parks and Recreation Administrative Office. 

The Esquimalt Recreation Centre is a multi-purpose wellness and community recreation facility. Features of the Recreation Centre include: 4500 + square foot Wellness Centre, featuring state-of-the-art cardio and strength training equipment, gymnasium, aquatic centre with six-lane 25 metre lap pool, warm “lifestyle pool” and tot pool with spray features, wheelchair accessible hot-tub, steam room, and sauna. In addition, to recreation activities and programs, there are hundreds of year-round community programs to choose from.

About the Opportunity:

The Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a motivated individual to fill an auxiliary Custodial Maintenance Worker position. Reporting to the Facilities Supervisor, the ideal candidate will perform routine cleaning services in the Recreation Centre and Parks washrooms; monitor, clean, and disinfect changerooms, washrooms, activity rooms, lockers, and hallways; set up rooms for functions, indoor and outdoor events; handle various cleaning materials; test and adjust pool chemistry; and perform routine servicing and maintenance of pool equipment.

 
Our Preferred Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Partial high school graduation
  • Current and valid Class 5 B.C. Driver’s License
  • Clean Driver’s Abstract
  • Pool Operator’s Level 1 and 2 Certificates
  • Building Maintenance Worker Course
  • Clear Criminal Record Check including vulnerable sector

Salary: $28.40 – $30.59 hourly plus 14% in lieu of benefits
