About Flourish School Food Society:
@flourishschoolfood is a not-for-profit organization that supports nutritious school food. We’re working to build inclusive school meal programs for all students, enriched by curriculum-connected, hands-on learning in school gardens, kitchens, and compost systems. As part of this work, we run a summer youth work experience program, where students help maintain school gardens across SD61 and SD62. Along the way, they learn how to grow food - some of which they’ll sell at the Esquimalt Market!
We'll be talking about our summer youth program, what we at Flourish are doing to bring more nutritious food into schools, our work around school seed libraries and how important maintaining seed diversity is in the face of climate change.
