The Township of Esquimalt and its CUPE employees delivered a record breaking 2700 pounds of donated food to the Esquimalt Neighbourhood House (ENH) as part of the 18th Annual Christmas Food Drive.
On December 14th, Mayor Barbara Desjardins and Township staff were on hand to make a delivery of food to the ENH, which promotes health, education and support services within the community.
Donations were collected from generous residents during regularly scheduled garbage pickup days in December. Residents also donated through collection bins located at Municipal Hall, the Esquimalt Recreation Centre, Archie Browning Sports Centre, and the Public Works Yard.
The Christmas Food Drive kicked off on December 4th and will continue to Friday December 15th. Food donations will be accepted until December 19th at Township of Esquimalt municipal facilities.
Thank you to Esquimalt residents for your generous donations of food and to everyone involved in our 2017 Christmas Food Drive!
