Esquimalt Fire Rescue is currently on the scene of a fire at 914 Esquimalt Road. The department had a call of smoke in a business establishment at 4:06 p.m. and, upon arrival at 4:09 p.m., found flames showing. The fire has been contained to a single business – Lum’s Restaurant – but the cabaret on the upper floor received some smoke damage. The two businesses adjacent to Lum’s should be open for business tomorrow.
An ambulance and VicPD are on the scene. No injuries were sustained as a result of the fire and crews are currently in the mop up stage. Motorists may experience delays on Esquimalt Road.
