ESQUIMALT, BC—There are two notable traffic disruptions planned in Esquimalt on April 5 and April 7-8.

  • Traffic lights at the intersection will be turned off & managed by traffic control personnel from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Please expect delays.

 

April 5

Lyall Street and areaEsquimalt 5K run
  • Lyall Street will be closed from 8-11:30AM (Admirals Road to Lampson Street)
  • Traffic will be slow along the race route from 8-11:30AM (see the map)
  • Please obey traffic control personnel and be mindful of race participants.

April 5 is also General Voting Day for the township by-election as well as day two of the Ken Gill and Forrest Owens Memorial Hockey tournament. Additional traffic and activity near the Esquimalt Recreation Centre and Archie Browning Sports Centre is anticipated.

Commuters should allow for extra time or take alternate routes. Residents along the 5K race route will have local access to their road under the guidance of VicPD and traffic marshals.
