The Township of Esquimalt will showcase its new solar hot water system during the Home Energy Savings Workshop taking place Thursday, July 15, 2010 from 7 p.m. - 9 p.m. at the Esquimalt Municipal Hall. The solar hot water system will reduce water heating costs by 50% and lower the municipality’s greenhouse gas emissions by 20 kg a year. The workshop will introduce residents to an array of regional and provincial home energy saving programs, including solar hot water system rebates.

Residents will have an opportunity to hear from and ask questions of guest speakers, gain knowledge on home retrofit rebate and incentive opportunities, and learn about the Municipal Hall's NEW Solar Hot Water System. Attendees will leave the session with a good understanding of energy saving opportunities for their home. Esquimalt homeowners will have a chance to win some exciting Home Energy Draw Prizes*, including a FREE Home Energy Assessment (Value $150). (*Restrictions will apply).
