A newcomer welcoming event will be held at the Songhees Wellness Centre on Saturday November 26, 2016, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. 

What: Newcomer Welcoming Event

Where: Songhees Health and Wellness Centre, 1100 Admirals Road

When: Saturday, November 26, 2016, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Transit: BC Transit Route 24 or 25

The Township is partnering with the Songhees Nation, the WestShore Chamber of Commerce, and the Victoria Immigrant and Refugee Society to welcome all new residents to Esquimalt and the Western Communities.  Songhees Chief Ron Sam will be on hand to welcome all attendees.

The event represents an opportunity for local governments and service providers to bring all of their information resources together under one roof for newcomers to access. The program for the event will include:

  • A special performance by the Songhees Dancers
  • Information tables for local municipal services, businesses, amenities and employment opportunities 
  • Information resources on parks, recreation centres, emergency services, local events and activities
  • Live arts performances and local crafts

Local businesses, social clubs and service providers are invited to purchase information tables and greet new neighbours and customers. Contact Ximena London at xlondono@ffcb.ca for details.
