The flags at all municipal facilities will be flown at half-mast in acknowledgement of the passing of Queen Elizabeth II on September 8, 2022 at the age of 96.
Queen Elizabeth was the United Kingdom’s longest-serving monarch, reigning for 70 years.
The flags will remain lowered until after sunset on the day the memorial service is held.
The Government of BC has advised that anyone wishing to sign a condolence book can do so in these ways starting on September 9:
- Online at www.protocol.gov.bc.ca
- In person at the Parliament Buildings and Government House in Victoria, and in the Great Hall at the Vancouver Law Courts building.
