When: April 28-30, 12:30-4:30pm daily
“This event is an important piece of the puzzle in finding the right solution to wastewater treatment on the westside,” said Mayor Barbara Desjardins. “Information from this event will provide a base of information that will be very helpful in developing our plan for wastewater treatment and resource recovery.”
It is expected that there will be a total of seven presentations over the three days, each presentation lasting about one hour, including a short question and answer period. Technology presenters who are unable to attend in person at Royal Roads will be presenting their information through live video conferencing.
Invitations were sent out for this event. Additional attendees may be accommodated, but seating at the venue is limited and is available on a first come, first served basis. Those interested in viewing the presentations through live webcast can do so by going to: https://livestream.com/royalroads/events/3954236
In addition, all presentations, information materials and relevant links will be posted to www.westsidesolutions.ca after the event.
The Westside Select Committee was formed last fall to to proceed with developing options for wastewater treatment and resource recovery. Westside communities - Esquimalt, View Royal, Colwood and Langford, and the Songhees Nation, with the support of the CRD, have initiated Westside Solutions, a project designed to evaluate options and recommend site(s) for potential liquid waste treatment and resource recovery plan for the westside communities. This plan, in combination with a plan from the Eastside Select Committee could form the basis for an amendment to the Core Area Liquid Waste Management Plan.
