On September 25th at the Archie Browning Sports Centre, Mayor Barbara Desjardins recognized finalists and participants in the 2013 Esquimalt Bloomin’ Beautiful Home and Garden Contest. All participants were recognized with certificates, and the top three finalists in each of the contest’s five categories were awarded with sponsored prizes.
“What began as a discussion around the Centennial Committee table in 2011 has grown into a platform for our community to express its spirit and vitality,” said Mayor Barbara Desjardins. “I congratulate everyone who participated for their commitment to the community, their neighbourhood pride, and their creativity.”
First place finishers in each category are as follows:
Best Large Garden - Joe Dorscher
Best Small Garden - Bev Hopkins
Best Façade - Deborah and Arthur Monk
Best Environmental Practices - Laurel and Nathan Rassenti
