As of February 1, 2018, the community yard and garden drop-off site located at TRIO Landscape Supplies on Hallowell Road in View Royal will be closed. The former yard and garden drop-off located at 605 Canteen Road, next to the Esquimalt Public Works Yard, will be re-opened for Esquimalt and View Royal residents.
The Township will be issuing a Request for Proposals (RFP) to solicit interest in providing yard and garden drop-off services early in 2018. Based on responses to the RFP, the drop-off location may remain at Canteen Road for the long term, or a different location may be chosen.
A second yard and garden drop-off location at Ellice Recycle at 524 David Street will continue to accept materials from Esquimalt and View Royal residents.
This service remains free to residents of the two communities with proof of residency. Residential decals for vehicle windshields are available at the facilities for those residents who plan to use the service regularly.
All material collected through the Township’s drop-off program is recycled into compost and reused within the region.
