Christmas Tree Village Application

The 2024 Christmas Tree Village will take place December 3, 2024-January 3, 2025 at the Esquimalt Recreation Centre (527 Fraser Street) and Archie Browning Sports Centre (1151 Esquimalt Road). APPLICATION DEADLINE: NOVEMBER 18th, 2024. Please scroll down to complete application. Please have ONE representative apply on behalf of your organization.

Groups/Organizations decorating a tree, please note:

1. Complete tree decorating within the noted decorating times: Friday, November 29th to Sunday, December 1st from 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Trees are 6.5 feet tall.

2. Organizations MUST have a representative clear the decorations from the tree between Saturday, January 4th (opening at 5:30am) and closing (10:30 p.m.) on Monday, January 6th. Any items left will be disposed of by Esquimalt Parks & Recreation. No items will be retained for late retrieval.

3. All decorations including ornaments, toppers, skirts, etc. supplied by organizations – at their own expense.

4. Organizations must supply their own extension cord. Please mark your extension cord.

5. Only use LED lights as they are energy efficient and do not give off heat.

6. Tinsel flock or sprays are not permitted as these are nearly impossible to remove.

7. Please do not use fragile ornaments. No glass ornaments permitted.

8. Esquimalt Parks & Recreation is not responsible for any damage or lost items on tree. Staff are on site 24 hours a day and will monitor as best as possible.

People’s Choice Voting:

1. Voting for “People’s Choice Favourite Tree” will take place in person and online from Tuesday, December 3rd to Tues, Dec 18th. The winner will be announced on social media on Thursday, December 19th.

2. In the event of a tie, winner will be chosen by a panel of Esquimalt Parks & Recreation Staff

3. Prize: Winner will receive an Esquimalt Recreation Prize Package valued at $500.
