The Capital Regional District (CRD) is the regional government for the 13 municipalities and three electoral areas on the southern tip of Vancouver Island.
The CRD website is a great resource for information about regional issues, such as transportation, water conservation, and waste management.

- Growing Together- a collaboration of people and organizations from across Coast Salish territories coming together to help people to grow their own food.
- People Power - the Active Transportation & Healthy Communities Program, is now underway! People Power focuses on motivating, supporting and encouraging residents to safely walk, roll and cycle more often and runs in tandem with community-led infrastructure investments and data collection programs across the region.

The Gorge Waterway Initiative: The Gorge Waterway Initiative (GWI) is a collaborative, community-driven group of organizations working to protect, enhance and restore the natural and cultural features of the Gorge Waterway, Portage Inlet and the surrounding watersheds. GWI members include representatives from community and environment groups, landowners, local government staff and advisory committees and recreational users, ensuring that a broad array of interests is represented.
