Mayor Desjardins issued the following statement in response to recent negative treatment of healthcare workers:
"The Township of Esquimalt stands with B.C.’s healthcare workers and sincerely commends them for the hard work they do every day and especially the past 18 months."
"They deserve our respect and support. For this reason, we will be illuminating the lights at Archie Browning Sports Centre and the Esquimalt Rec Centre to join others in this gesture of gratitude for all they have done and continue to during the Covid-19 pandemic and in the face of many challenges. Thank you, from all of us. "
