Esquimalt, B.C.—Workplace leadership and mental wellness are the theme of a two-day conference happening in Esquimalt at the end of October.

Organized by Esquimalt Fire Rescue Services, the summit tackles issues often seen in high-intensity professions—like first responders—and is open to all.

Themes include enhancing workplace resilience, responding to traumatic incidents in the workplace and psychological first aid. There will also be two in-depth and interactive sessions about leadership that demonstrate ways to support workplace teams in becoming engaged and thriving.

“The last few years have been extremely challenging for organizations; leadership and wellness have never been more on the forefront as we collectively work towards a healthy work-life balance,” said Fire Chief Steve Serbic. “We have gathered some of the leading health and wellness facilitators in the province and brought them to Esquimalt for an exceptional weekend.”

Speakers include former NHL pro, author and speaker Ryan Walter; human resources trainer Phil Eastwood and several other respected facilitators.

Participants will have the choice between one or two days of sessions on October 29 and 30. The summit will be held at the stunning Gorge Pavilion in Esquimalt.
