About the Opportunity:


The Public Works Department is seeking a motivated individual to fill a full-time Chargehand Painter-Utility position. Reporting to the Public Works Supervisor, the primary function of the Chargehand is to lead a team of skilled labourers to paint road and curb markings, install road signs, repair streetlights, paint interior and exterior of facilities, and repair/replace interior lighting in facilities.


Our Preferred Candidate:


The ideal candidate will possess a minimum of three years of related experience including a demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, and train staff in public works setting. Additional requirements are a grade 12 diploma or GED, a valid class 5 BC driver’s licence (class 3 with air endorsement is an asset), and a traffic control certificate.

Salary: $38.02 hourly (2024 rates) plus benefits
Hours per week: 40
